About Us
Nothing beats the freedom of a road trip in a classic car. That is the heart and soul of Pavement Pounder Events.
This company was founded and is led by Cole Quinnell. With more than 30 years in the automotive industry, Cole started Pavement Pounder Events with a vision to organize a drive each year with a destination that gearheads dream about. Cole has assembled a team of seasoned professionals with deep roots in the automotive world to plan, promote and execute each event. From logistics and route planning to content creation and community engagement, every detail is handled by people who live and breathe car culture. The goal? To make every Pavement Pounder Event as smooth, memorable and downright fun as possible.

Cole’s experience includes working at Hot Rod magazine, where he envisioned the concept for Power Tour, and developing 4-Wheel & Off-Road magazine’s Ultimate Adventure. During his time at Chrysler, he launched and managed media programs that gave automotive journalists from around the world driving and travel experiences ranging from the streets of Los Angeles to the deserts of Morocco.
He built (with the help of many) the original Pavement Pounder — the 900-horsepower 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air that has run 9-second quarter miles and participated in two Hot Rod magazine Power Tour events. His most recent rebuild is his 1966 Chevelle that he has owned for nearly 40 years. The car is great for cross-country drives with an LS3, TREMEC Magnum 6-speed transmission and Flex-A-Lite performance cooling system. He owns several other performance vehicles and enjoys modifying them and driving them.
We want to make it easy for you participate and have a great time. We hope you’ll join us for the whole trip or part. Reunite with old friends and meet new ones. At the very least, like our Facebook page and subscribe to our YouTube channel! If you have questions or suggestions, message us through social media or send an email to info@pavementpounderevents.com. We’ll see you on the road!
